Thinking about buying a fireplace insert and still hesitating over which manufacturer to choose? Steel or cast iron? Let us set that opposition aside straight away: both are in our range — steel inserts of our own production and cast iron: KAWMET inserts and stoves and MORSO stoves. So the only question is what suits your particular task better. In this article we give 10 reasons why it is worth buying a steel fireplace insert from the Ukrainian manufacturer SAVEN.
Buying a fireplace insert: 10 reasons to choose SAVEN
A SAVEN steel insert is a Ukrainian product that we, as manufacturers, are proud of and into which we have put all our knowledge, experience and European practice. We did not invent anything new. We simply combined the best achievements of the fireplace industry into one final product and added our own vision of what an ideal wood-burning fireplace should be.
Here are ten advantages of our fireplace inserts.
- Made of a reliable and durable material: low-alloy boiler sheet steel from 3 to 5 mm thick!
- Fitted with safe 4 mm heat-resistant glass from the German manufacturer Schott Robax with a self-cleaning system.
- Lined with European fireclay 35 mm thick, resistant to temperatures up to +1200°C, with a proprietary shape that protects the insert from overheating and extends heat output.
- Simple and convenient control of combustion intensity — with a single regulator.
- Good ventilation and even room heating thanks to the option of supplying air from below and from behind.
- No deformation under high temperatures, thanks to a stable and rigid construction.
- Reliable sealing provided by fireplace sealing cords.
- A double deflector improves heat transfer through the steel elements of the smoke collector and the walls of the insert.
- Simple and easy installation thanks to a unique leg design that pairs well with SAVEN fireplace grilles.
- A universal design lets the insert fit into any interior style.
Thanks to all these advantages, SAVEN fireplace inserts heat up quickly and maintain a comfortable temperature, are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, meet Ecodesign requirements and offer high efficiency.
Which series of SAVEN steel inserts are available?
The advantages listed above apply to the whole production programme, while the specific model is chosen according to the shape of the fireplace and the size of the room:
- Straight steel inserts — the classic for a fireplace along a wall or in the middle of the room.
- Corner steel inserts — front and side glass, a view of the fire from two sides, saving space in the room.
- SAVEN Energy Up series — 12 models with a guillotine door: it does not swing sideways but lifts vertically upwards and hides inside the body. This is convenient where there is little room in front of the fireplace, and it allows switching between closed and open burning modes.
- Balance series — 4 models for modern, restrained interiors where the fireplace is built into a wall.
- Steel fireplace stoves — the freestanding option, which requires no surround, niche or cladding.
- Fireplace cassettes — the solution for those who already have an open fireplace: the cassette is fitted into the existing opening and the fireplace becomes closed.
Classic control with a single regulator and air supply from below and behind is the basic solution, which we kept for its simplicity and reliability. But the range does not end there: in the models with a lifting door of the Energy Up series and in the Balance inserts the door design and glass geometry are different. The exact specifications of each model — height, width, depth, heating area, efficiency — are listed on its product page, because there is no single figure that fits all inserts.
What warranty do SAVEN fireplace inserts carry?
The eleventh, unofficial argument is the warranty. SAVEN fireplace inserts, fireplace stoves and cassettes carry a 5-year warranty, and the fireclay lining an additional 2 years. This is a direct consequence of points 1-3 in the list above: when the body is welded from 3-5 mm boiler steel and the combustion chamber is lined with European fireclay rated to +1200°C, the manufacturer can afford a long warranty period. MORSO cast iron stoves carry a 10-year warranty; KAWMET cast iron inserts and stoves are also part of our range.
We do not publish prices in articles, because they depend on the model and configuration — please check them with a manager or a representative in your region.

And we manufacture these powerful appliances in Ukraine. That, in our view, is their greatest advantage. The mark "made in Ukraine", which we are proud of both at home and abroad. A mark that proves we can make things well and reliably.
Behind that mark lies the painstaking work of dozens of engineers, developers, designers and craftspeople, each of whom contributed so that in the end we would get a product we can proudly call our own. SAVEN inserts are a national product that combines European materials and technologies with Ukrainian craftsmanship and soul.
We are convinced that "Made in UA" is more than a country of origin. It is a mark of quality. A sign that we, Ukrainians, are capable of anything.
