New fireplace ventilation grilles SAVEN LOFT ANGLE

Corner ventilation grilles from the Ukrainian manufacturer SAVEN, the LOFT ANGLE series, are models with larger dimensions and higher airflow capacity than the standard LOFT series.

The line is available in several sizes — in left-hand and right-hand versions — and in several colours: white, graphite, cream and black. For the current list of models, sizes and colours see the catalogue section, and for prices and availability please check with a manager or a representative in your region.

What are the advantages of SAVEN LOFT ANGLE corner grilles?

The carefully considered dimensions of the LOFT ANGLE corner grilles deliver several advantages at once:

1. Simple installation of the fireplace box.

The height, width and depth of the ventilation grilles are chosen so that they fit perfectly into the convection box, allowing for insulation, a marble surround and so on. The surround will not cover the grille, which guarantees free access of air for circulation.

2. A stable fireplace box.

The structure of the box is not weakened by a grille of this size.

3. A wider grille opening provides sufficient free cross-section.

Thanks to the increased air passage, such a fireplace ventilation grille gives better airflow and therefore ensures quality heating and better performance from the fireplace insert.

4. Protection against overheating the insert.

Better grille capacity protects the insert from overheating.

5. One grille for the whole fireplace — saving money, installation time and interior space.

A single fireplace grille of this type is enough for an appliance with a nominal output of up to 13 kW (for models 95x450x800 and 95x800x450) and up to 15 kW (for models 95x450x950 and 95x950x450). That in turn means savings, faster installation and a tidier look for the fireplace system in the interior.

Like the other SAVEN grilles, this series is made of steel, has a straight and simple shape with a minimalist design, and comes in the most popular and practical colours.

The materials used for the fireplace ventilation grille and the mounting frame allow them to be used in most building walls and frames of various thicknesses.

Thanks to their simplicity and smooth surfaces the grilles are easy to clean, while the solid, robust construction ensures durability for many years.

A quality coating protects the grilles from sharp temperature changes, corrosion and environmental effects.

Which other grilles are available in the SAVEN catalogue?

LOFT ANGLE is only one of four lines of SAVEN fireplace ventilation grilles. If the fireplace is not a corner one, or a different solution is needed for the surround, take a look at the other series:

  • LOFT — straight grilles in the modern loft style, the widest choice of sizes;
  • LOFT ANGLE — corner loft grilles, designed for corner fireplaces;
  • CLASSIC — classic ventilation grilles, the familiar look for most fireplace surrounds;
  • HIDE — concealed grilles, almost invisible in the surround.

All the lines are gathered in the fireplace grilles section. A manager or a representative in your region will help you match grilles to a specific insert and will confirm current prices and availability.

Why are ventilation grilles needed at all?

A reminder! Ventilation grilles draw in cold air and return warm air to the room. For the fireplace to work efficiently and reach its maximum efficiency, the number of ventilation grilles should be calculated on the following principle:

  • inlet grilles (through which cold air from the room enters the heat chamber) are calculated at 50 cm² of free grille area per 1 kW of nominal insert output. Inlet grilles are installed in the lower part of the heat chamber, below the insert;
  • outlet grilles (through which heated air passes from the heat chamber into the room) are calculated at 70 cm² of free grille area per 1 kW of nominal insert output.

Note that the calculation uses the free (open) area of the grille — the area of the openings through which air actually passes. It is always smaller than the overall dimensions of the grille, because part of it is taken up by the frame and the bars. So grilles cannot be chosen by eye from their outer size.

Grilles are selected for specific equipment, so it is worth starting with the insert — corner steel inserts, straight steel inserts or inserts with a guillotine door. How the box itself around them should be built is described in the article how to properly build a convection fireplace box.
