Which certified European materials are used?
SAVEN goods are sold not only across Ukraine but are also exported to EU countries, which guarantees that every material used in production is reliable, tested and holds EU quality certificates. Below we go through each of them in turn — steel, fireclay, paint and glass.

Low-alloy steel
In the manufacture of fireplace inserts we use hot-rolled carbon low-alloy boiler sheet steel of Ukrainian production. This is a material in which the content of harmful impurities is reduced to improve the quality of the steel, while alloying additives (from the Latin ligare, "to bind") are used to increase uniformity: they reduce grain size and improve the thermal stability of the material.
These alloying elements include:
- chromium (Cr) — increases hardness and strength, improves corrosion resistance
- nickel (Ni) — improves corrosion resistance, increases strength and ductility
- molybdenum (Mo) — increases elasticity, anti-corrosion properties and resistance to oxidation at high temperatures
- tungsten (W) — prevents grain growth on heating and helps eliminate brittleness
- vanadium (V) — increases hardness and strength, raises the density of the steel
- titanium (Ti) — increases the strength and density of the steel, improves corrosion resistance
- aluminium (Al) — increases the heat resistance of the steel
- copper (Cu) — improves corrosion resistance
The proportion of alloying elements in low-alloy steel amounts to 10-15%.
The key advantages of this segment of steels are high strength and toughness, weldability and minimal dimensional tolerances. Depending on the thermal load, the parts of the insert are made of low-alloy steel from 3 to 5 millimetres thick.
Fireclay with a proprietary design
To protect the combustion chamber from overheating we use thick (35 mm) European fireclay, not the cheap substitutes that quickly break down or fail to do the job. Fireclay is made from ground clay and fired in several stages. The result is an excellent fired material capable not only of accumulating heat but of transferring it.
Fireclay withstands temperatures up to +1200°C and — importantly — has increased resistance to temperature swings. It absorbs heat and holds it inside for a long period, extending the heat output of the insert.
Lining with thick protective fireclay boards of SAVEN's own design does not merely complement the steel insert — it improves its main function, the safe heating of the room.

The fireclay lining of SAVEN steel inserts means:
- quality European fireclay 35 mm thick
- a proprietary design
- a high degree of heat resistance
- protection against cracking under the effect of high temperatures
- a longer period of heat output from the insert
Environmentally safe paint
For painting SAVEN steel inserts we use a special paint resistant to large temperature swings. Buyers of inserts often encounter the situation where, during the first firing, the paint covering the steel crystallises and gives off smoke and a foreign smell.
The paint SAVEN uses is environmentally safe and gives off no smoke at all during firing, because it goes through the crystallisation process during baking at the production stage, rather than in the room where the insert is installed.

German Robax heat-resistant glass
The chance to watch the fire safely is a key advantage of closed inserts. That is why in SAVEN steel inserts we use a proven, quality material — heat-resistant glass from the German manufacturer Schott Robax. It is made of transparent glass ceramic 4 mm thick, which lets it withstand temperatures up to 760°C.
The airtight doors of SAVEN steel inserts with Robax glass play a part not only in containing fire and smoke but also in distributing the air correctly inside the combustion chamber.

Why did we choose Robax glass for SAVEN inserts?
Heat resistance. Glass from the German manufacturer Schott Robax withstands heating to 700-760°C, thanks to a special manufacturing technology with tempering, chemical treatment and surface polishing.
Thickness. Robax glass meets the standard for the optimum sheet thickness for heating appliances — 4 mm.
Protection against overheating. After 30 minutes of operation the glass in a fireplace insert heats up to only 50-200°C. By comparison, ordinary glass would already have reached 500°C in the same half hour.
Clarity. Robax glass is made of transparent glass ceramic with no streaks, cloudy shades or greyness. So the view of the fire in the insert is always sharp and bright.
The self-cleaning system. Thanks to the air flow into the chamber that washes the glass, the pane does not mist over or become coated with a layer of soot or dirt.
Sound insulation. The crackle of burning wood can be too loud and is not always welcome (at night, for instance). Robax glass insulates such extraneous noise as far as possible.
A long service life. Given proper care, the manufacturer Robax guarantees the glass will remain sound for tens of thousands of hours of continuous burning.
Safety against shattering. Thanks to a special gel used in making the glass, it does not split, crack or break. Under the effect of high temperature the gel turns into a foam, and even in the event of mechanical damage the glass, because of that foam, continues to hold together.
What unique technologies does SAVEN add of its own?
Our production uses modern equipment, operated by a team of specialists with many years of experience in metalworking. That is how we obtained a quality product — the SAVEN steel insert, which can easily compete with expensive foreign brands.
We took the best experience of modern European technology and added to it several unique developments of our own, in order to improve the quality of SAVEN inserts. European standards plus unique technology from SAVEN give a highly efficient and powerful steel fireplace insert.
Legs that make installation easy
We developed our own unique construction for the legs of the fireplace insert, which makes installation quick and easy and works well together with SAVEN fireplace grilles.

An extra-strong door profile
Our particular pride is the extra-strong door profile patented by SAVEN. Because metal expands under the effect of high temperatures, there is a risk that a door made from an ordinary profile will deform, which leads to a loss of sealing.
The profile of our doors resists bending and twisting under high temperatures; it does not expand and does not deform. This property is especially important in corner fireplaces, where the glass sits on two perpendicular sides.
Smooth, easy flame control with a single regulator
To make using a SAVEN insert simple, clear and safe, we fitted only one regulator, which controls the intensity of burning. No confusing knobs or buttons. Just one highly sensitive and precise regulator, with which the air supply to the firebox can be adjusted smoothly and easily, and with it the intensity of the flame.
Energy efficiency, safety, convenience
SAVEN is short for two English words — saving energy. Our inserts live up to the name: they heat up quickly and hold the warmth in the room for a long time, which not only saves on fuel costs but keeps a comfortable temperature and a sense of comfort in the house.
Our main goal as developers of steel inserts was to create the most energy-efficient and powerful insert possible, one that would answer the modern needs of buyers heating their homes. We drew on the best world experience and added our own long practice and knowledge.
High efficiency
At the development and manufacturing stage of SAVEN steel inserts we achieved a high efficiency figure. This was possible thanks to a highly effective flue-gas removal design. On their way out of the firebox the flue gases travel a long path to the chimney, and in the process transfer as much heat as possible into the room through the body of the fireplace.
Compatibility with heat recovery systems
The airtightness of SAVEN fireplace inserts allows them to be used in premises with a heat recovery system installed.
How does a recuperator work? Used warm air from the room is exhausted outside, heating a special ceramic (or copper) heat exchanger. The device then reverses its direction, and fresh, pre-warmed air enters the room again.
A heat recuperator helps to save money, because it keeps heat in the warmed space and distributes it around the room, allowing higher overall efficiency from the fireplace.
Bottom and rear air connection
In SAVEN steel fireplace inserts the air supply can be connected either from below the insert or from behind. This technology simplifies installation and operation and does not restrict the buyer's choice of where to place the appliance.

A double deflector
Dampers have long outlived their usefulness, so all modern insert manufacturers replace them with a deflector. Indeed, replacing the damper with a deflector is in line with European standards.
The function of a deflector is to change the direction of the airflow and the flue gases, and also to reflect heat back into the chamber, raising the combustion temperature. For efficient operation of the fireplace, both the design of the deflector itself and the number of them matter.
Because a deflector is constantly exposed to high temperatures, it must be heat-resistant and rigid. Our deflectors are therefore made of vermiculite, which has excellent shielding properties and high heat resistance. Vermiculite is also light, so the deflector can easily be detached for a service inspection or for cleaning the insert.
In SAVEN inserts we fitted a double deflector, which relieves the thermal load on the insert while increasing its efficiency. Heating is more even, because the double deflector lengthens the path of the flue gases. That improves heat transfer through the steel elements of the smoke collector and the walls of the fireplace insert.
Sealing with fireplace cords
Sealing the fireplace insert is a critically important factor for its safe operation. The steel body is welded with sealed seams. For additional safety, all openings, spigots and other elements of the insert are sealed with special graphite fireplace cords that withstand high temperatures. And in order to achieve maximum sealing, the construction of SAVEN inserts is rigid and tight, with every element made with precision.

The "clean glass" system
In SAVEN fireplace inserts air is directed onto the glass. This forms an air curtain that protects the pane from misting, soot, dirt and deposits, and makes looking after the fireplace simpler.
Simple installation and care
The compact dimensions and weight of steel inserts allow them to be installed almost anywhere convenient. A steel insert can also be fitted at any stage of a renovation.
In addition, steel inserts are undemanding in care — the wood in the firebox burns efficiently, so little ash forms and it needs removing less often. By comparison, in a cast iron fireplace this has to be done more frequently.
Practicality
SAVEN is not only the manufacture of steel inserts. It is also a large network of fireplace shops run by our representatives, where you can buy the accessories and components that will visually complete your fireplace and make the whole heating arrangement a distinctive element in the design of your interior.
Why is the design called versatile?
We deliberately designed the inserts so that they would be versatile in every sense:
- first, versatility of installation location. SAVEN inserts are an ideal solution for private houses, country villas, town houses, restaurants, leisure complexes, hotels and so on.
- second, we devised a versatile design and created the most popular size range, which can be used in rooms of very different styles — from classic and ethnic to modern designer interiors.
- third, versatility of installation. Our inserts are equipped with the option of an outside air supply and have a high degree of airtightness. That allows them to be fitted in buildings using a heat recovery system (a supply-and-extract ventilation system).
- and finally, a SAVEN insert answers two requests at once: by distributing heat through all the rooms it warms the whole house, and it creates a comfortable focal point around which the whole family will gather on cold evenings.

A Ukrainian manufacturer
In our view, the greatest advantage of SAVEN steel inserts is the mark "made in Ukraine". A mark we are proud of both at home and abroad. A mark that proves we can build to a high standard and build reliably.
Behind that mark lies the painstaking work of dozens of engineers, developers, designers and craftspeople, each of whom contributed to making a product we can call our own with pride.
SAVEN inserts are a national product that combines European materials and technology with Ukrainian craftsmanship and soul. We are convinced that "Made in UA" is more than a country of manufacture. It is a mark of quality. A sign that we, Ukrainians, are capable of anything.
Warmth is about SAVEN. Warmth is about Ukraine.
